Cooking Chickpeas

Introduction

Have your chickpeas ready to go for dips, soups, salads and mains.

Ingredients


1 cup of dried WGS Chickpeas

Steps

1. Rinse chickpeas before use.


2. Place 1 cup of dried chickpeas in a saucepan and cover with 3 cups of water and soak overnight in the fridge. 


3. Drain and discard the soak water.


4. Add 2-3 cups of fresh cold water ensuring chickpeas are well covered, bring to the boil and simmer for 30 minutes for an “al dente” or for a raw nutty finish. Or simmer for 1 hour for a tender/softer finish. 


Time Poor ?: If you would like chickpeas on hand for immediate use then when cooking make a big batch and freeze the extra.
