Have your lentils ready to go for salads, soups and mains.
1 cup of either WGS Red, Brown, Green, Black or French Green Lentils
Lentils are very easy to cook with because they do not always have to cooked in boiling water first.
In dishes such as soups, casseroles or pasta sauces you simply add the raw lentils and they will cook in the hot liquid as it simmers.
In fact dried lentils make a tasty contribution if added to soups or mains, as they absorb the flavour of the meal as they cook.
French green lentils, Black lentils, Spanish brown lentils, Whole Red Lentils are great "al dente" as they will hold their shape.
They can be used in soups, salads or as an accompaniment to fish, poultry or lamb.
If cooking lentils in water wash first, drain and put into saucepan and boil for 10 –15 minutes for "al dente" or longer for a softer finish.
